During our summer program, we took an inspiring turn as students gathered to hear from Mahoua S. Bakayoko, a distinguished author and advocate in the fight against irregular migration. Known for her poignant novels such as "La Rébellion de Zantigui," "Sous le joug d’un Dangadeh," and "On me l’a ôté," Bakayoko's visit was a cornerstone event aimed at emphasizing the importance of literacy and empowering aspiring young writers.
During her intervention, Ms. Bakayoko captivated our students with her assertion that "those who do not read become slaves of those who do," a statement that underscored the significance of reading as a means of personal liberation and intellectual independence. Her message resonated deeply with the students, many of whom aspire to leave their own mark on the literary world.
Ms. Bakayoko's visit is part of our ongoing initiative to connect students with influential figures in literature and beyond. By interacting with accomplished authors, our summer program seeks to ignite a passion for reading and writing among the youth, encouraging them to explore the vast possibilities that literacy can offer.
The inclusion of Ms. Bakayoko's works in the school's library has provided students with direct access to her narratives, which are rich with themes of resilience, culture, and the human experience. Her novels serve as both a mirror reflecting societal issues and a window into the world of creative storytelling.
During the Q&A session, students eagerly engaged with Ms. Bakayoko, asking insightful questions about her writing process, the inspiration behind her characters, and her advice for young writers. This interaction was a testament to the impact of her visit, sparking curiosity and motivation among the students to delve deeper into the world of literature.
As the summer program continues, Lycee Moderne d’Anyama reaffirms its commitment to fostering an environment where education and community leadership are paramount. With the guidance of figures like Mahoua S. Bakayoko, students are inspired to pursue their dreams and become the authors of their own stories.
Furthermore, we are thrilled to announce the addition of 15 books from Ms. Bakayoko's new collection to our library. This significant update to our literary resources opens up even more avenues for our students to explore and learn from her profound insights and storytelling. We cannot wait to see the inspiration and creativity these books will spark in our students.
